Why does my business
need a website?
My customer base is regional and does not adapt well to
online sales. Think of your website as an extended yellow page ad. If
potential customers see you have a website it will allow them to investigate
your company in a relaxed fashion. It will also allow you to develop a
relationship with them increasing the likelihood of them becoming a regular
customer Some ideas
- Best ways and times to contact your business.
- Detail on services and rates
- Information and History about your company and people
- If you are actively seeking new business you can capture
information about interested visitors to contact offline. You can use a monthly
contest or give-away in exchange for a prospects contact information.
My current customers are not on-line and the ones who are
don't have time to wander around a website looking for information. For
your busy customers who are online; if you provide an easy to navigate site
full of valuable information, they will use it. This will strengthen their
relationship with you. The key is to provide current, valuable, and easy to
access information. Some examples:
- Post existing information that you send out to customers online
i.e. newsletters, information pages, or product updates
- A current frequently asked question page
- Links to helpful related resources
- Product features and seasonal specials
As for your customers who are not online; more than 80% of all
Americans are online and the number is increasing everyday. Furthermore, no
form of marketing reaches 100% of your customers.
Websites are an expensive, lousy investment because they
don't generate sales.
This could be said of any advertising method that
is incorrectly implemented. The key to making a website work for you is careful
planning and good marketing. GShort.com's byline is "when you need more than a
pretty picture". The last thing we want our customers doing is spending money
on a website that is little more than online art. Our goal is your goal, to
increase sales and improve your relationship with your customer with a useful
